on our way

April 14th, 2007

We’re on our way to Hawaii. I’ll be in the air soon. We drove all day yesterday taking the kids to my parents house, and then driving another two hours to the nearest airport. I’ve decided to bring two laptops, my powerbook and my work laptop, just in case there’s an emergency at work. I guess I’ve become some kind of apple biggot because there’s no way I’d use my work laptop for anything but work, then again, I’ve never liked windows. I don’t have the opportunity to install linux on this work laptop like I did at my last company.

indoor soccer

April 10th, 2007

I’m getting better at soccer. I didn’t score any goals today, but everyone told me I had improved greatly and one person even called me “awesome”. You know it!! We didn’t win tonight, but we did tie it in the last 30 seconds of the game.

I finally got around to shipping out all of the christmas dvd’s.

Looks like my kids aren’t the only ones who got what they wanted for Christmas…

in college i wrote a few games in javascript, and java. it doesn’t exactly make me a game developer, but it shows I had a lot of interests in web development back then. I found a copy of a bunch of old games that I wrote. They still sort of work, at least enough to make a few screenshots…

great minds think alike

April 5th, 2007

well, i keep coming up with ideas for projects, but then I keep finding other instances of people doing the same idea. today’s discovery is propel’r, an implementation of the ideas in David Allen’s “Getting Things Done”. I recently purchased this book, based on the reccomendations of 43folders.com. I was thinking of basing my project planning website on the ideas of the book.

I found this site, propel’r. It looks like they really understand the book, and I’m looking forward to Summer ‘07 for when they begin the beta and I can try it out.
